Our history

In April 1997, the Far West Aboriginal Progress Association (established 1974) amalgamated with the Ceduna Aboriginal Community Council to form the Ceduna Aboriginal Community Council Inc.
The Ceduna Aboriginal Community Council Inc. then joined the Tjutjunaku Worka Tjuta Inc. (established 1989) officially amalgamating in July 2000. In July 2012 the Tjutjunaku Worka Tjuta Inc. became the Ceduna Aboriginal Corporation.

Our place

Ceduna is derived from the Aboriginal word “Tjutjuna” meaning a place to sit down and rest.
The beautiful and remote town of Ceduna is 780km from South Australia’s capital Adelaide and 1900km from Western Australia’s capital Perth.
Our logo

The West Coast Mint Bush (Prostanthera Calycina) grows only in certain areas of the Eyre Peninsula and Far West of South Australia.
